From Gore Mountain - Gore Mountain’s opening of Topridge today meant that Thanksgiving Weekend terrain exceeded three miles of available slopes, and skiers and riders were excited to get back on their boards! Daily operations will continue through this week, with the Topridge Chair reopening Friday and coinciding with Gore Mountain’s Famous Sports Page Demo & $29 Lift Ticket Day.
For Friday’s demo, reps from Rossignol, Fischer, Salomon, Volkl, Atomic, Nordica, K2, Blizzard, Line, and Dynastar skis are expected, as well as Sports Page's fleet of Burton, Never Summer, Rossignol, Salomon and Rome boards. No coupons are required for the $29 lift ticket special. Other early season guests are encouraged to present ticket sellers with any non-perishable food item daily through Friday, December 17 for $10 off ticket purchases, excluding the demo promotion.
More terrain is expected to open Friday, with the additions of Pine Knot, Tannery, and possibly Foxlair. Snowmakers will also be making progress on Lower Sunway, 3B, Showcase, Lower Sleighride, Stokes, and Bear Cub Run.
The Hudson Chair installation, which completes Gore Mountain’s Interconnect with the Historic North Creek Ski Bowl, is almost finished. Seats and safety bars are being put into position and the lift is scheduled for inspection on December 8.
As Gore finishes the new triple and prepares to open its new Skier/BoarderX and glades, early season guests are encouraged to visit the newly opened Retail Shop in the Base Lodge, which was remodeled for 10/11 and is currently offering a 50% off clearance sale to help with holiday shopping!
